Shell Martinez Refinery refines and markets gasoline and other petroleum products under the Shell and Texaco brand names throughout the West and Midwest. The company serves several Shell- and Texaco-branded retail outlets. Founded in 1915, Shell Martinez Refinery has the capabilities to convert more than 150,000 barrels of crude oil daily into various types of products. It produces gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, petroleum coke, industrial fuel oils, liquefied petroleum gas, asphalt, sulfur and lubricants. The company maintains advance processing equipment and environmental protection facilities. It also has shipping and receiving terminals for marine, rail and truck cargoes, as well as maintenance shops and quality assurance laboratories. Shell Martinez Refinery has a work force of more 700 employees.
