Amy Leu, DO is a board-certified family medicine doctor and sports medicine specialist based in San Diego, CA. With expertise in diagnosing, treating, and preventing sports-related injuries, Dr. Leu provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. As an osteopathic physician, she takes a whole-body approach to medicine, utilizing manual medicine techniques to diagnose and treat restrictions in the body that contribute to pain and disease. Dr. Leu has a special interest in biomechanics, functional movement, and injury prevention, and she serves as an associate team physician for the San Diego Padres. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Leu is an assistant professor of Family Medicine and Public Health at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She instructs medical students, residents, and fellows, and she is the assistant program director of the Sports Fellowship Program. Dr. Leu is actively involved in clinical research, including studies on the usefulness of the tuning fork as a diagnostic tool for tibial stress fractures and the use of the Functional Movement Screen for injury prevention.
