Kern River’s Edge Campground Retreat has all your favorite camping amenities and is located one hour east of Bakersfield and just two miles north of Kernville, California on Sierra Way. Our ideal location on the Kern River and nearby Lake Isabella makes catering to fly fishing, anglers, whitewater rafting enthusiasts, mountain bikers, climbers, and water sport enthusiasts our specialty. The grassy grove offers a quiet place to relax after a great day of adventure. The sand volleyball court and horseshoe pits offered onsite provide more unstructured recreation options in the campground. The camp sites are spacious and accommodate groups like schools, youth groups, scouts, and YMCA’s. Our dry camping sites are perfect for RV’s or tents and boast deluxe restrooms, hot showers, drinking water, picnic tables and fire rings. The Curve, a public beach is just a few minutes’ walk from camp along our secret river trail! Reservations are necessary May-September; confirm your camping reservation online, any time, from your cell phone or other device. Vehicles are limited to two per site. Check-in time is at 2:00 pm and check-out time is at 12:00 noon. Firewood and ice for sale from on-site Camp Host. Grab souvenirs and last-minute essentials like beer and wine coolers from our Camp Store.
