Kimberly Aguilar, NP

For Kimberly Aguilar, NP, nursing was all in the family. “Both my grandmother and mother were registered nurses, and I had a passion at a young age to be a nurse practitioner,” she recalls. “I wanted to specialize in family practice because I enjoy helping people of all ages.” Aguilar spent six years working as a registered nurse in emergency care and inpatient cardiac care before going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. She says, “I get the most satisfaction when I can help patients improve their pain, cholesterol, blood pressure, and diabetes. I want them to live long and healthy lives and improve their quality of life. It is important for patients to know that I want them to feel comfortable and that I respect their individuality and preferences. I enjoy working together to meet their needs and goals.”
