Kings Christian School

Hooker Oak School serves more than 400 students in kindergarten through eighth grade. It is an open-structured classroom school. The school s curriculum is based on the brain research of learning and reading styles of elementary-grade students. It offers a variety of physical education, special education, speech therapy, music, library, Title 1 and counseling programs. Hooker Oak School offers a range of subjects, such as reading, mathematics, writing, spelling, social studies, science and phonics for students in grades one and two. Additionally, the school conducts classes in music and fine arts. It also operates a library that offers various resources, such as books and newspapers. Hooker Oak School operates a parent-teacher association that funds and supports academic programs and social activities. Located in Chico, Calif., the school is a part of the Chico Unified School District.
