I visited Lake Kirkwood in August. It's a small pristine High Sierra lake off highway 88 west of Kirkwood Ski Resort. The road from 88 goes to a sandy beach and a lovely 12 site camping area....

I camped on Lake Kirkwood as a girl scout in the sixties. I spent three summers there at camp. The lake was cold and, oh, so, beautiful. The Twin Sentinels were two mountian markers above us....
