The Maloney-Shamie-Hura Vision Institute was established in Los Angeles in 1998 by Dr. Robert Maloney, the first surgeon in western North America to perform LASIK surgery as part of the original FDA clinical trials. A clinical professor of ophthalmology at UCLA, Doctor Maloney has trained more than 1,000 surgeons in the use of the excimer laser and has personally performed more than 68,000 vision correction surgeries. The Maloney-Shamie-Hura Vision Institute specializes in the full spectrum of vision correction procedures. We are experts in All-Laser LASIK, PRK, Implantable Contact Lenses, EVO Visian ICL, Advanced Lens Laser Cataract Surgery, DSEK, DMEK, and Corneal Cross-Linking for Keratoconus. Robert K. Maloney, MD, MA, a Rhodes Scholar, trained at Oxford University, Harvard University, UCSF, and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
