Golden State Health Centers, headquartered in Sherman Oaks, Calif., specializes in short and long-term convalescent and rehabilitation nursing care, and provides physical, occupational and speech therapies, wound care, respiratory care, an assisted living facility and geriatric psychiatry services. It also offers a facility designed to serve those with Alzheimer's and Alzheimer's-like diseases as well as two psychiatric facilities serving young and middle-aged adults. Founded in 1968, the company has facilities located throughout Los Angeles including the City of Los Angeles, the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys, Glendale and Santa Monica. It accepts payment from many insurance companies, managed-care companies and long-term care programs. GSHC is a member of the California Association of Health Facilities and the Quality Care Health Foundation.
