History

Ida Aguzarova, the founder, has been a coffee aficionado for 20+ years. Prior to moving to US in 2010, Ida ran a high-end coffee shop in Moscow, Russia. Upon arrival to Bay Area, Ida operated a mobile coffee business, catering at various shows, street fairs, and private events, while learning the local coffee culture and trends. In April of 2014, Medleno Coffee established its first fixed location in Danville, CA. Understanding that every step in coffee preparation matters, Ida chose to do the whole process, end-to-end, by herself -- from manually sorting the green coffee beans, to roasting them, to grinding, and finally brewing the coffee. That is the only way to make a true fresh gourmet coffee!

Specialties

We roast our own coffee beans -- to keep your coffee fresh. We make true Turkish (aka Greek, aka Arabic, aka Armenian) -- brewed in ibrik, as well as your common favorites: Espresso, Cappuccino , Caffe Latte, Caffe Mocha, and Drip (House) coffee. Our Turkish coffee is slow brewed (compared to espresso, at least) and thus extracts more flavor and strength from coffee. It is an ideal drink when driving. Whether driving for 30 min to work or for 6 hours to LA, our Iced Turkish coffee will keep you both cool and energized to the end of your trip. We guarantee it! Many customers have complimented us on our cafe mocha, which we make from our own espresso blend and a natural chocolate (Sharffen Berger, 99% cacao). It appeals to every true mocha connoisseur. We provide regular and undiluted (ice cubes made of coffee) iced coffees. We sell only freshly roasted coffee beans (roasted within the last 12-48) hours: -- Colombian Supremo (Medium and Dark roast); -- Ethiopian Yirgacheffe (Light and Medium roast); -- Panama Esmeralda Geisha 1500; -- House Espresso Blend (Medium roast); -- Colombian Huila Decaf (Medium, Medium-Dark roast).

It's a super small coffee shop, more of a grab-and-go kind of place, but they do have a little seating area tucked behind the building. I don't drink coffee as much as I used to but do enjoy an...
