Since its inception in 1959, The Mendocino Art Center is one of the highly regarded artistic and educational institutions offering more than 200 retreat-style workshops every year in ceramics, fiber arts, fine arts, jewelry and sculpture. The art galleries feature monthly exhibitions spotlighting the creative works of local and national artists. The Mendocino Art Center organizes various events that include a garden shop and plant sale at the Mendocino Art Center and a gourmet vegetarian luncheon, featuring Indian cuisine at the Stanford Inn by the Sea's Ravens' Restaurant.
