Mother Lode Scots is an association established in 1979, dedicated to providing a community for Scots and descendants of Scots who have migrated from Scotland to the U.S. for the past 300 years. They actively participate in Scottish celebrations, proudly displaying their heritage through wearing kilts and family tartans. From traditional events like the annual Burns Supper, featuring bagpipes, poetry, songs, and a traditional meal, to the Kirkin o' the Tartan, a tartan blessing held close to Easter, Mother Lode Scots aims to preserve Scottish customs and culture by educating others through their meetings, which cover various topics such as Scottish Country Dance, Gaelic, history, and cooking.

Located in the Gold Rush Mother Lode area of Northern California, Mother Lode Scots holds their meetings during the Highland Game season at various games on Saturday afternoons, and once the season is over, they gather on the third Wednesday of each month at the Jackson Senior Center. With a focus on fostering a sense of community and preserving Scottish traditions, Mother Lode Scots offers a platform for Scots and their descendants to connect and celebrate their shared heritage.
