Established in 1981, Sierra Wilderness Seminars Inc. conducts business under the name of SWS Mountain Guides. Based in Mt. Shasta, Calif., the firm specializes in mountaineering tours and expeditions. It teaches rock climbing, ice climbing, glacier travel, alpine mountaineering, certified avalanche seminars, backpacking, survival, backcountry skiing and mountain ski descents throughout California.
