Located in Fort Bragg, Calif., Parents & Friends is a nonprofit organization that serves people with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1955, the agency provides opportunities for sheltered employment, as well as a job development service and a fully licensed day program. Its coastal support service is a supported living service for individuals with developmental challenges. Parents & Friends offers The Community Connection, which is a state-licensed day activity program that provides individuals with severe disabilities the opportunities to participate in everyday community life. The agency s employment program, The Job Connection, is based on the Individual Habilitation Service Plan. It additionally organizes various events, functions and activities.

MPIC is a nonprofit employment and training resource center that provides a range of services and programs. Its partners include the Goodwill Industries Workforce Development Division, Mayacama Employment Service, CalWORKS Mental Health, Economic Development & Financing Corporation and West Company. MPIC offers vocational assessment, computerized-tutorial programs, and internship job, basic skills and work readiness training programs for youth. The center in partnership with the Mendocino County Office of Education operates the federally funded Workforce Investment Act Youth Program. MPIC s youth internship program includes a range job training programs. The center is located in Ukiah and has branches in Covelo, Fort Bragg, Laytonville, Willits and Point Arena, Calif.
