NextBus serves the public transportation industry and offers information for passengers and the managers of public transit systems. It tracks bus locations through an automatic vehicle location system and provides actual arrival times. The company processes information and calculates and transmits arrival time predictions to stationary and portable electronic displays and Internet. NextBus works in partnership with various providers of software applications for mobile and broadband operators. Its partners include Intuicom, Openwave Systems and Talking Signs. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Grey Island, which develops, markets and hosts Internet-based automated vehicle location, passenger information and vehicular systems for public and private fleets in the United States and Canada.
