Dr. Valadez loves people and the science of medicine. At an early age Dr. Valadez discovered that he wanted to be a physician, as this was a way to best combine helping people and his passion for science.Dr. Valadez’ expertise include optimizing a patient’s health and wellness by formulating a personalized and easy to follow plan, no matter how complex the medical concerns. This process is what creates the trust that is so important in becoming someone’s personal physician. Whether it is welcoming a new patient, seeing someone after a hospital stay or performing a skin biopsy, it is clear that Dr. Valadez really cares about his patients.As a board certified Internist, Dr. Valadez has over 20 years of medical practice experience in a wide range of clinical settings. After graduating from Harvard Medical School, he completed his internal medicine residency training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He then spent several years in private practice in New York City with Cornell-New York Hospital. Dr. Valadez and his family later moved back to native California where he was in private practice prior to joining Hoag Medical Group.Dr. Valadez has also found time to combine his love of travel, medicine and helping those in need by going on medical missions to Honduras, Mexico, Colombia and Tanzania, Africa.Some of Dr. Valadez’ areas of interest include geriatrics, hypertension, diabetes and obesity.In his free time, Dr. Valadez spends time with his wife, who was a medical school classmate, and their two college aged children. He also enjoys cooking, gardening and boating.

Dr. Tse was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to the United States at the age of six months. She was inspired as she watched family friends and relatives give back to the community and this played a key role in her decision to pursue a profession as a pediatrician. Her patient care philosophy centers around providing support to the families she cares for. Whether it is listening about different approaches, hearing parent concerns, or learning about new ideas, she maintains an open mind and focuses on communication and education for her patients and their families. Dr. Tse especially enjoys the energy of the kids she works with and serving as an advisor to them in all areas of development. As she says, “I find it extremely rewarding to be a part of their growth. I am drawn to kids and love being a constant resource in their life.” Having completed her undergraduate studies and medical school at University of California, Irvine, Dr. Tse then completed her internship and residency at University of California, San Diego. She has been practicing for over 20 years and looks forward to the variety that each day brings. Married to a fellow pediatrician, Dr. Tse has three children and loves to travel. Additionally, she stays active and enjoys spending time outdoors.
