History
Established in 2003 as a support group for American Indian and Alaska Native men living with HIV, Red Circle Project has grown to include transgender individuals with an emphasis on prevention and intervention. Many efforts include the incorporation of community advocates, hosting events geared around Native American health, engaging with the local Native American community, as well as creating innovative HIV prevention messages.
Specialties
Red Circle Project is one of the HIV prevention programs at APLA Health. We are the only HIV prevention program in Los Angeles County that provides services to American Indian and Alaska Natives especially those who self-identify as gay, bisexual, pansexual, and Two Spirit men as well as transgender individuals who may identify as Two Spirit. We provide referrals to resources throughout the city of Los Angeles such as connections to health care, HIV testing and counseling, referrals to STI testing and treatment, homeless shelters, food banks, linkages to and back into care, and other social services. We provide incentivized Health Navigation Sessions which focuses on client health (call for more information).
