History

I have always been a little safety nut, before baby proofing I was very into workshop safety and had classes about safety in Denmark. I was working with toddlers in a kindergarten back in Denmark where I saw first a lot of safety products but also accidents happen, and I was thinking a lot about how to prevent the more serious accidents. I ended up having classes in Baby and small children psychology before I moved to San Francisco bay area. I was working the first few years here in a blacksmith shop that specialized in high end iron works for mansions. That taut me a lot about thinking smart and about installations for a lot of different kind of items. I came into the baby proofing business through my mentor Lars Bergholdt and his former company Cradlerock. Under his guidance, I learned the importance of safety in the home and how it can be accomplished with the most pleasing results.

Specialties

When it comes to baby proofing, I am what you might call a minimalist. Many products out there are of such poor quality that you waste a lot of money, or just simply useless. Often baby proofing can be done by simply rearranging a piece of furniture or putting a small eyehook on a door. I don't believe in a product for every item in your home or putting bumpers and soft pads on every little edge - you are living there too. During our consultation I would seek critical areas in the home with potential for greater harm than just a tiny bump or scratch. My philosophy emphasizes aesthetics in your home while maintaining a safe environment for your toddler.
