Merced County Office of Education enrolls more than 54,000 students and more than 20 school districts in Merced County, Calif. It departments include business services, career and alternative education, human resources, instructional, migrant education and special education departments. Its business services department provides payroll, district, internal business, information technology, stores, printing and grants services. Its migrant education program provides educational and support services to eligible migrant children. Additionally, it offers special education programs for physically disabled students that focus on hearing, vision, speech, learning and physical development. The Stanislaus County Probation Department provides juvenile detention services, juvenile intake services, juvenile and adult investigation services and probation supervision. The department s juvenile detention hall is a maximum-security facility holds minors who are detained by the juvenile court pending completion of court proceedings. It is also used as a commitment facility for minors who require a period of incarceration as part of their final disposition. The department s juvenile intake services investigate delinquent behavior and make referrals, such as counseling, probation and formal charging. The juvenile and adult investigation services provide reviews, interviews and evaluations of all relevant circumstances that are applicable to delinquent or criminal behavior.
