Santa Monica Fire Department

Santa Monica Fire Department provides a range of fire, rescue and emergency medical services. The district has more than five fire stations and over 200 employees. Its enforcement activities include commercial fire code inspections, open burning regulation enforcement, fire cause and arson investigation and juvenile fire-setter counseling. The district also provides a range of engineering activities, such as preconstruction plans review, fire protection system review, consumer product data collection and fire code development. The fire prevention division implements and develops programs and policies that prevent the magnitude of emergency occurrences, such as loss of life and property, personal injury and environmental damage. The department also provides training and emergency medical programs, and various educational programs, including school programs, public presentations, media events and safety fairs. It is located in Santa Monica, Calif.
