History

Established in 2014. I bought my first DSLR digital camera in 2013 with one lens, and after taking a few photos I knew I was hooked. I started researching various photography styles, taking classes, and doing anything I could to learn more about the art of photography. As I researched different techniques and styles I would find family members and friends who would let me take photos of them to practice my new style. By the end of 2014 I knew the style that spoke to me most was fine art film photography. The colors that film produces are captivating in every way and I was drawn to that beauty. By mid 2014, I photographed my first wedding and have never looked back since.

Specialties

Sarah Windecker is a fine art film wedding photographer who uses predominantly natural light and not only focuses on capturing the special moments of the day, but also the feel of the day, down to the smallest detail. Beauty is found in the details, and this can clearly be seen throughout Sarah's work. Sarah believes that every moment of the wedding day is an opportunity to capture beauty and uses each of these opportunities to make the wedding day as memorable as possible for her bride and groom. Sarah predominantly uses medium format and 35mm film cameras, and has a second shooter who backs up each photo digitally. Sarah Windecker also specialized in family photography and maternity photography. During all her family shoots, Sarah focuses on capturing genuine emotions between family members with little posing. She starts each session off by gaining the children's trust and affection which makes the rest of the session feel much more organic. Once the children realize that the session is going to be fun, they are much more likely to cooperate, giving each family the loving smiling pictures they desire.
