Sturtevant Falls in Arcadia, CA, is a popular hiking trail that has been closed indefinitely. Located in the Angeles National Forest, this trail has been a favorite among hikers looking to escape the urban sprawl of Los Angeles since the early 1900s. The trail takes you through a forested wonderland with Santa Anita Creek by your side, and along the way, you'll pass several manmade waterfalls and cabins from over a hundred years ago. Due to its easy access from Los Angeles, this trailhead tends to get extremely busy, so it's recommended to visit in the morning or on weekdays.
Despite its closure, volunteer trail crews are currently working to repair and restore this trail, along with others in the area, with the goal of reopening by Summer 2024.
