The Temecula Police Department provides a range of services to prevent crime. It has a traffic team, investigations bureau and special teams to deal with drugs and gang-related problems. The department s teams include K-9 unit, special enforcement and youth accountability teams. Its youth accountability team focuses on youth between the ages of 12 and 17 years and provides assistance to students experiencing problems with truancy, drugs and alcohol, school behavior, family issues, gang involvement and mental health issues. The traffic team of the Temecula Police Department is responsible for neighborhood enforcement of traffic violations and red light violators. Its street enforcement team is a specialized team that investigates narcotic and gang-related crimes and monitors career criminals living and visiting the city of Temecula.
