Dr. Rosa Mathai, DMD Dr. Mathai is a recent and enthusiastic transplant to the Bay Area. Originally from Leesville, LA, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania after attending Tulane University in New Orleans for her undergraduate studies. Following dental school, she lived in Boston, MA training at the Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, where she advanced her skills in all facets of general dentistry through a rigorous residency program. She has spent the past five years of education focusing on learning advanced prosthodontic and surgical techniques, as well as gaining experience in providing high quality dentistry for the entire family. As a new addition to the best coast, she is excited and honored to bring her skill set and passion for dentistry to the West Portal Dental Care practice. Dr. Mikhail Nasakin, DDS Dr. Mikhail Nasakin was raised in the Bay Area and attended the University of California at Davis where he was greatly invested in the study of Neurology, Physiology, and Behavior and received his bachelor degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. Nasakin obtained his credentials of Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry graduating class of 2010. Prior to returning to the Bay Area in hopes of practicing dentistry in San Francisco, Dr. Nasakin spent an additional two years completing his General Practice Residency training at Staten Island University Hospital. This residency helped him to become proficient in a wide range of dental treatments, including but not limited to; restorative and cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridge, implant dentistry, surgical extractions, periodontal treatment, and root canal therapy. Dr. Mikhail Nasakin believes it is essential to be up to date with the latest technologies and advancements in the field. He strives to perfect his technique by attending continuing education courses and relying on evidence based practice philosophy with the hopes of improving his patients' dental and general health. Dr. Nasakin has participated in a variety of outreach programs as a student, a hospital resident, and most recently with the California Dental Association. In November of 2013 he helped organize a Medical/Dental Mission that delivered medical and dental care to the Philippines. When Dr. Nasakin is not practicing dentistry, he spends most of his time with family and friends. His interests include collecting vinyl records, cycling, and exploring the attractions of the San Francisco-Bay Area. We welcome this very talented addition to our West Portal Dental Care practice.
