Founded in 1972, Golden Valley Health Centers is a Joint Commission-accredited and federally qualified health center system. Based in Merced, Calif., it offers health care services to patients in the Central Valley of California, as well as the Merced and Stanislaus counties in the United States. The organization specializes in optometry, diabetes and breast cancer services. It also conducts numerous special programs, such as integrated behavioral health program, dental health and reach-out/read program. Golden Valley Health Centers serves families in Merced and Stanislaus counties through its network of around 25 medical sites and eight dental facilities, including two freestanding Women s health centers, three school-based centers and a homeless healthcare program.
