Sarah Goodpastor, MD is a Board-Certified internal medicine physician at Mercy Internal Medicine and has been providing care since 2010. Dr. Goodpastor earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha academic honors, was inducted into the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society, and was awarded the Carlos Pestana, MD, PhD Alumni Award recognizing a graduating student for truly outstanding academic talent, clinical skills and ethical standards. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.Dr. Goodpastor also holds the BC-ADM (Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management) credential from the ACDES allowing her to provide skillful management of Type 1 and complex Type 2 diabetes. She works closely with two Certified Diabetic Educators embedded in her clinic. Together they provide care to patients on multiple daily doses of insulin and insulin pumps. She is accepting patients with complex diabetes for consultation from their Primary Care provider.Dr. Goodpastor is also the Medical Director for the Mercy Primary Care (Mercy Family and Internal Medicine) practices at Horse Gulch, Three Springs, and Bayfield.Dr. Goodpastor is no longer able to accept new patients as their primary care physician.

Julie Pysklo, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Mercy Internal Medicine. Dr. Pysklo earned her medical degree and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. She is board-certified in internal medicine.Dr. Pysklo served as a chief medical resident at the University of Colorado. She then continued to start both the hospitalist program and the residency program for University of Colorado Health Sciences Center at Presbyterian St. Lukes in Denver.Dr. Pysklo moved to Durango in 2002 and provided care as a hospitalist at Mercy Regional Medical Center for 15 years. She served as a director for Mercy's hospitalist program for eight of those years. She transitioned into primary care internal medicine in January 2016.

Dennis Wales, MD, specializes in urgent care, sports medicine and skin cancer screenings. He sees patients at Mercy Family Medicine's Horse Gulch campus.Dr. Wales earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his residency in family medicine at the Greenville Family Medicine Residency Program in Greenville, South Carolina. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine. He has spent more than 8 years in general practice in New Zealand.Dr. Wales is married to Julisa. The couple has four children. In his free time, Dr. Wales enjoys mountain and rock climbing, travel, snow sports, cycling, running, fishing, church activities, playing the guitar and violin and reading.
