Denver Public Library provides a range of books and related programs and services. It also offers a variety of magazines, videos, CDs and audio books. The library maintains more than 20 locations in Denver in Colorado. Established in 1889, Denver Public Library provides access to the Internet through over 470 library computer terminals. It operates the Central Library, which houses nearly 2 million items for researchers. The library offers book on business, science, mathematics, politics, foreign languages, art and entertainment, cooking and food, sports and recreation, and computers and technology. Denver Public Library organizes fundraising events, such as annual used book sale and the Booklover's Ball signature event. It maintains a staff of more than 450 employees. The library provides various activities for children and adults that include after-school programs, Internet workshops, job search seminars and book discussion groups.
