Established in the early 1900s as a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients, Swedish Medical Center is now a regional referral center that specialized in neuro-trauma and treatment of strokes. The center maintains nearly 370 licensed beds and serves residents throughout the Denver area, as well as its surrounding communities in central Colorado. Its departments include adult and pediatric trauma, neurosciences, advanced radiology, cancer treatment, cardiology and women s and children s health. Swedish Medical Center is located in Englewood, Colo. In 1993 the hospital joined with Presbyterian/St. Luke s Health Care System to form HealthONE, a nonprofit organization that is Denver s largest health care provider system.
