The Monument Police Department offers services for the protection of residents lives and property, as well as deterrence, detection and investigation of criminal activities. Located in Monument, Colo., the department also maintains social order and peace, as well as provides law enforcement services. It maintains a Direct Action Response Team (D.A.R.T.), which is a specially trained group of officers and paramedics who support the police department with tactical response and critical incidents. The department operates a patrol division that is responsible for suppressing crime, as well as making community contacts. The Monument Police Department supports the Explorer Program, which provides law enforcement training to students between the ages of 14 and 21.
