History

The Profile was founded in October 1978 by Deborah Wiig, and by the early 1980s it had become a vital force for community exchange, revitalization and unity in the Washington Park area. In 1983, Paul Kashmann became the new publisher after years of working as the paper's advertising executive, writer and editor. In February of 2015, Jill Farschman took over as the new publisher with a mission to expand The Profile's online presence while fostering meaningful engagement with local residents and businesses. Today, The Profile continues to deliver quality news and editorial content.
