Established in 2001, the Franklin Academy is a boarding and day school for students with nonverbal learning differences. It serves students in grades 9 through 12. The academy focuses on reading and decoding skills, vocabulary building, enhanced verbal ability and expertise with computers. The Franklin Academy s core curriculum includes literature and arts, philosophy and science, individual and community and mathematics. It also emphasizes on the development of basic skills in the areas of reading, researching, writing, organizing and socializing.
