John Street Antiques Center was founded in 2002 by Herb Hauser originally as "Canal Street Antiques" and in August 2007 relocated to nearby John Street in the heart of the Stamford Antiques district. Herb Hauser's "John Street Antiques" maintains the same "wholesaler" niche and loyal following of dealers and decorators who come to the John Street Antiques Center, a former warehouse and fence factory, to source great finds at value prices. Step inside our converted warehouse and you'll immediately see that John Street Antiques is not your typical antiques center. Without the overhead of fancy floor space and hovering sales people, the atmosphere at John Street Antiques is low key and friendly. This "anything but stuffy" approach adds to the total shopping experience and also enables us to sell for a lot less than our neighboring antique centers.
