Founded in 1945, Aetna Ambulance Service Inc. is a locally-owned and operated company, which provides emergency medical service and paramedic service to Wethersfield, Rocky Hill and the southern portion of the City of Hartford. It also provides non-emergency services to the region's eight major hospitals, medical and skilled nursing facilities and residences throughout the Greater Hartford area and Farmington Valley. Aetna Ambulance Service Inc. offers a wide range of services, including basic life support, advanced life support paramedics, bariatric ambulance transportation and licensed wheelchair coaches through its own wheelchair division. It has over 100 employees and a fleet of 25 vehicles.

American Ambulance Service has been providing patient care for more than 32 years. The company serves patients in Connecticut and Rhode Island with pre-hospital and facility transportation. American Ambulance Service offers invalid coach, basic and advanced life support services, neonatal intensive care transportation and critical care services. It has an approved compliance program in place to maintain the standards of care while complying with guidelines set by the state and federal governments. American Ambulance Service has been providing EMS to the City of Norwich and is the exclusive EMS provider to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods Resort Casino, the largest casino in the world.
