Hope Community Charter School

Established in 1863, St. Ann s was chartered by President Abraham Lincoln. It offers care services for underprivileged women and children. It offers various medical services, including nursing, prenatal and postpartum follow-up care, and labor and delivery. The home offers various parenthood training, which includes instruction in caring for infants, family life education and child development. St. Ann s offers classes in household management, which includes cooking, shopping, budgeting and housekeeping. It also offers educational classes in junior and senior high school subjects, preparation for civil service exams and general equivalency diploma preparation. Additionally, St. Ann s offers various recreation programs, including arts and crafts, cultural and sports events, shopping trips and swimming. Founded in 1931, Lafayette Elementary School is a part of the District of Columbia Public Schools, which operates over 180 elementary, middle and high schools. The school serves more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade six. Its general academic curriculum includes reading, writing, math and science.
