We at Sauf Haus believe in Reinheitsgebot and Biergesetz- sometimes called the "German Beer Purity Law". In English, it's translation is a regulation concerning the production of beer in the Holy Roman Empire and its successor state, Germany. In the original text, the only ingredients that could be used in the production of beer were water, barley and hops. Today, we still celebrate the pure taste of German beer with our 16 German Drafts on tap all the time in the heart of Dupont Circle! Aside from our amazing beer selection, we also specialize in German favorites such as our famous Bavarian Soft Pretzels that can range anywhere from a personal size to our notorious 2 pound pretzel.
