UNITE HERE

UNITE HERE was formed in 2004 through the merger of the Union of Needletrades, Textiles and Industrial Employees and the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union. The union represents more than 440,000 active members and 400,000-plus retirees throughout North America. The union has a diverse membership, comprised largely of immigrants and including high percentages of African-American, Latino and Asian-American workers. The majority of UNITE HERE members are women. UNITE HERE represents workers in the apparel and textile manufacturing, apparel distribution, apparel retail, industrial laundry, hotel, casino, foodservice, airport concession and restaurant industries. UNITE HERE is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
