HistoryPerky Pelican is dedicated to the memory of my sweet mom, Frances Yvonne Laur, who was the original lover of all things Christmas in my family. She filled my childhood homes with decorations and ornaments from around the world as we traveled with my Air Force officer dad, Bill Laur. As I was packing up my Pennsylvania home to move her in 2010, I came across a postcard of St. George Street that my mom sent me back in 1986 during my parent's vacation here. She wrote, 'You'd love it here!' Well mom, you were right, as always. Who would've guessed that 30 years later I'd be opening a Christmas shop on that same street?! So, to my mom-thanks for sharing your love of Christmas with me. And to my dad - thanks for encouraging me to major in Accounting in college all those years ago- I'll be needing those skills more than ever! And to my future customers, I hope you'll enjoy my little shop as much as I've enjoyed putting it all together.
