Carolyn Maldonado-Garcia, MD

Gaetjens Joseph, DNP, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at AssociatesMD in Plantation, Florida. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since 2016, Gaetjens recently acquired her doctorate in nursing from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Gaetjens began her nursing career in 1997 and has years of experience in almost every area of patient care. Her skills boast unmatched expertise in geriatrics, medical surgery, telemetry, home health, managed care, and more. Since joining AssociatesMD, Gaetjens has built a reputation for her vast knowledge of primary care and her kind and nurturing interaction with patients.

Sylvia Fernandez, PA-C was born and raised in South Florida. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences at Florida International University. Sylvia worked as a clinical laboratory scientist at Cedars Medical Center as well as Integrated Regional Laboratories prior to obtaining Masters of Health Sciences degree at Barry University in 2004. She is an adjunct clinical preceptor for Barry University Physician Assistant program where she has provided insight and growth to the program. Ms. Fernandez is certified through NCCPA and has practiced Family Medicine in the Plantation area for over 10 years.

Slyllia Thompson is a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Practitioner with over 12 years of demonstrated nursing experience, spanning dynamic healthcare settings; in areas of Primary Care, Research, Assisted Living Facilities and Home Health. She graduated from Barry University in Miami with a BSN degree and went on to pursue her MSN degree at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She believes in patient centered care and optimizing the best healthcare outcomes for her patients. She enjoys spending time with her family, attending her kids sporting events, traveling, volunteering in her community and a home cooked meal.
