The Volusia County Sheriff s Office is a law enforcement agency that works towards preservation of peace and detection and prevention of crime. Its fiscal division is responsible for overseeing the budget that funds the entire operations of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office and the inmate facility. It also provides emotional support to the victims, witnesses and their families. It provides a variety of services, including crisis intervention, personal advocacy, information and referral for various types of assistance and guidance with filing victim compensation. Its civil section serves judicial process, enforcing judgments and orders that originate from the supreme court, circuit courts, county courts and board of county commissioners.
