He and his expert team are involved in clinical research studies and stay up-to-date on the latest, cutting-edge dermatological treatments for skin, hair, and nails.After earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Dr. Rodriguez went through extensive patient care training. He completed an internship and internal medicine residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, University of Illinois - Affiliate Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.To further his expertise, Dr. Rodriguez completed a second residency in dermatology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. His passion for research began during his senior year of medical school, where he was awarded the prestigious Adolph J. Rosenberg Award for research in dermatology.Dr. Rodriguez serves as the medical director for Dermatology Associates & Research. Hes also an associate professor in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami, as well as a staff physician at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami. As a certified clinical trial investigator, he has been an active participant in over 100 clinical trials. His research interests have focused on tinea pedis infections, acne, psoriasis, rosacea, and atopic dermatitis, to name a few.Because of his expertise in the field of dermatology, Dr. Rodriguez is an invited speaker at teaching conferences and seminars across the country and world. He has presented in the World Congress of Dermatology and in the American Academy of Dermatology annual conference. In addition, Dr. Rodriguez has been featured as a skin expert in local Univision television programs, a national NBC television special, Americas Ethnic Skin: An Al Roker Health Special, and quoted in numerous dermatological magazines and the New York Times.As a highly regarded dermatologist with profound knowledge and experience in hyperpigmentation and aging in ethnic populations, Dr. Rodriguez was invited to become a founding member of the Skin of Color Society (SOCS). While on the board of SOCS, with the collaboration of his colleagues, Dr. Rodriguez was a contributing editor to the textbook Treatments for Skin of Color.Dr. Rodriguez maintains professional affiliations with the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, among others.Patients of Dr. Rodriguez benefit from his extensive knowledge of dermatological conditions and his ability to focus on individualized skin problems of the patient.
