Mark Allen Cavitt, MD - Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital-Child Development and Rehabilitation Center

Dr. Alvaro specializes in pediatric psychiatry in the Institute for Brain Protection Sciences at Johns Hopkins All Childrens Hospital. He treats all psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents with a particular interest in ADHD, anxiety disorders and mood disorders. He joined the hospital staff in 1999. Dr. Alvaro also is an affiliate professor in the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the University of South Florida. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida, where he also completed a residency in general adult psychiatry followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. He served as chief resident during the final year of his fellowship.

Dr. Cavitt is the Medical Director of Pediatric Psychiatry Services and serves as Chair of the Division of Neurology, Psychiatry, Psychology & Developmental Pediatrics. He is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry as well as general psychiatry. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor for the University of South Florida, College of Medicine and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Lake Erie College of Medicine, Bradenton and Instructor in Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Cavitt graduated from the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee University. His recent awards include Best Doctors of Tampa Bay (2007-2018); Educator of the Year (2015) at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Phrathep is a pediatric psychologist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. He specializes in sports psychology, general mood and anxiety concerns. He joined the hospital staff in 2025. Dr. Phrathep’s clinical and research interests include athlete mental health, performance psychology, injury recovery, identity development, outreach, and treatment engagement and accessibility. Dr. Phrathep earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He completed an internship and postdoctoral fellowship in clinical sport psychology at University of Southern California Athletics Department/Counseling and Mental Health. He also earned a Master of Business Administration in management and leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University.
