Minesh Mehta, M.D., is chief of radiation oncology and deputy director of Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute and a widely renowned expert in radiation oncology, proton therapy and cancer research. Dr. Mehta received his medical degree with highest honors from the University of Zambia School of Medicine. He completed a residency at the University of Wisconsin, where he was later appointed chairman of the medical school’s Department of Human Oncology.As part of his leadership efforts, he directed research studies, technology development and the expansion at the University of Wisconsin Cancer Center. He also headed its brain tumor program for more than 15 years, leading to his national leadership role in clinical trial research. Domenech Asbun, M.D., FACS, is a hepatobiliary, pancreas and foregut surgeon at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. He specializes in minimally invasive surgical procedures to treat liver, pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal diseases. Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2021, Dr. Asbun completed a fellowship in minimally invasive hepatopancreatobiliary and foregut surgery at Mayo Clinic Florida. Apart from hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, he has a strong interest in global surgery and surgical simulation. Dr. Asbun has presented at national and international academic meetings and has published research in multiple high-impact journals.
