Telephone Systems International (TSI) was established in 1998 with the aim of creating a commercial telephone system in Afghanistan. It owns and operates Afghan Wireless, the country's first mobile phone company and the largest provider of telecom services across all sectors.

Launched in 2002 by Ehsan Bayat, Afghan Wireless offers a range of services including 4G LTE, 3.75G, 3G, HD Voice, and mobile payment solutions. The company serves over five million business and consumer clients throughout all thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan.
