The City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department manages more than 100 parks offering a diverse collection of activities and recreation facilities. The goal of the department is to serve all of the residents of the city of Miami by providing safe, clean, and wholesome recreational, educational and cultural activities in order to promote a sense of community. The department consists of a number of division and sections, including administration, finance and payroll, day care services, disabilities services, operations, recreation, special events, support services, the Miami Love project, park managers and facilities and program supervisors.
