Constance V. Katsafanas, D.O, is a board-certified neurologist and serves as director of the Neurology Residency Program at Marcus Neuroscience Institute, a part of Baptist Health. She specializes in brain aneurysms, multiple sclerosis, stroke and telestroke medicine. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Katsafanas served as an associate professor of neurology at the University of Florida and a neurologist at the UF Health Neuroscience Institute in Jacksonville. There, she also served as director of Telemedicine, departmental quality officer, program director of the Neurology Residency, associate program director of the Vascular Neurology Fellowship and associate clerkship director. Dr. Katsafanas earned her medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Fla. She completed a neurology residency and a vascular neurology fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, Fla. Dr. Katsafanas is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in both neurology and vascular neurology and is a member of several professional organizations. Committed to improving the healthcare delivery process, Dr. Katsafanas has been involved in quality improvement initiatives at hospitals, course and curriculum development for medical professionals and teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians. She has also participated in clinical research and shared her results at scientific meetings. Dr. Katsafanas feels that practicing medicine, caring for people and being part of their story is an incredible privilege. “Every patient has a story and, as a physician, I have the privilege of being part of that story; sometimes for a little while and sometimes for a long while. I meet people where they are, and I honor their story and their wishes and work with them to help them find their best health,” she said. When Dr. Katsafanas is not treating patients, she enjoys all things related to comics, including traveling to and working at comic conventions. She also enjoys musical theater and going to Disney parks.

Jean-Pierre Obeid, M.D, is a board-certified radiation oncologist at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. He specializes in the treatment of cancer using advanced radiation therapies. His clinical interests include head and neck cancer, thoracic cancer and central nervous system tumor sites. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Obeid was a radiation oncologist at Cleveland Clinic, Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Fla. He was recognized by the local media during his tenure for bringing technological advancements in radiation techniques to the community. Dr. Obeid earned his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Mass., and a radiation oncology residency at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. Dr. Obeid is a member of several professional organizations. He has conducted research on the efficacy of radiation therapies and published his work in peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Obeid points out that cancer occupies only a portion of a patient's overall health status. He combines cutting-edge cancer treatments with a holistic approach to provide patients with effective and compassionate therapy. Dr. Obeid is fluent in English and Arabic. When he is not treating patients, he enjoys playing basketball, fishing and tinkering with electronics.

Christina Stewart, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a board certified nurse practitioner at Baptist Health Primary Care. She cares for patients with chronic and acute health conditions. Prior to joining Baptist Health Primary Care in 2014, Christina worked as a nurse practitioner in many different settings, from the urgent care and telehealth to a provider in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. Her wide range of experience helps her provide quality care to her patients. Christina has helped improve the quality of care throughout Baptist Health Medical Group by developing the annual Medical Assistant Skills Optimization Fair, a continuing education fair for medical assistants. Christina also serves as a mentor for other Advanced Practice Providers who are new to Baptist Health Medical Group. Christina’s care philosophy is to learn about the patient as a whole, rather than only considering the disease process or medical condition. She believes taking a holistic approach enables her to provide total care for her patients to achieve the best possible health outcomes. In her free time, Christina spends every moment that she can with her family. She also enjoys all things DIY.
