Piedmont Park offers a sought after respite from the hustle and bustle of surrounding Midtown Atlanta. It features miles of walking/biking trails, dog parks for multiple sizes of canines, a seasonal Green Market, playgrounds, the Atlanta Botanical Garden and other fun activities for all ages. It is also home to multiple festivals and concerts throughout the year and is the place to be once warmer weather arrives.Parking and public transportation at Piedmont ParkParking around Piedmont Park is very limited. The SAGE Parking facility is the largest parking deck and street parking is sometimes available on surrounding residential streets. The red or gold line MARTA trains can be taken to the Midtown MARTA station which is a short roughly half mile walk to the park. Walking/public transportation are the best options.Best and worst time to go to Piedmont ParkThe park is open year-round with significantly higher traffic during warmer months. Visiting during the week will help alleviate some of the parking issues and crowds.Admission to Piedmont ParkIt is free to go to the park with the exception of various festivals and other special events. There is an admission fee to visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden, with tickets priced up to $18.95 + tax and fees for regular admission.Must see/do at Piedmont ParkWalk the trails to see the duck pond, dog parks and the gorgeous Greystone building, a special events facility. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a beautiful and serene attraction to visit as well.Other places to visit near Piedmont ParkAn abundance of restaurants, shops and bars can be found in nearby Midtown and the Virginia Highlands.Insider tip for visitors to Piedmont ParkBring a blanket and chairs and set up shop in the middle of the green to people watch, throw frisbees and footballs, read a book or just relax outside.
