Decatur High School

Established in 1912, Decatur High School provides a variety of academic and enrichment programs for students in grades 9 through 12. The school offers classes in social studies, math, science, English, history and fine arts. It provides counseling services to meet the social and emotional needs of adolescents. Decatur High School also offers a range of athletic activities, such as golf, basketball, cheerleading, football, lacrosse, soccer, softball and cross-country. In addition, the school has a media center that houses a selection of books, articles and educational resources. It provides membership options for chess and art clubs, as well as the National Honor Society. Decatur High School operates a parent-teacher-student association that supports fundraising events and welfare activities. The school is governed by the City Schools of Decatur, which manages several elementary, middle and high schools.
