Any military-connected person or veteran or DoD civilian can stay here. Look at the website for details. The rate depends on your rank I think. For me it was $175/night. Not exactly cheap but a...

Now the Visitor Center, the facility has restrooms (porta-potties) small snacks and maps of the volcano. If you have small children, you can also have them participate in the Junior Ranger program.
