The downhill ride was fun but you no longer get to ride through town. I agree that it is safer but kinda a bummer that you ride half way down and then hop in the van and ride up again and down...

Quality/Quantity - Overall good experience. Bobby and Nannie (spelled wrong?) made the excursion so much better. Bobby is an amazing cyclist, the stunts he did while riding downhill at 30+ miles...

Booked the Haleakala pre-dawn bike tour for $130 USD per person. It's $100 cheaper and held later than the one with the sunrise, so perfect if you've already done the sunrise thing and don't wanna...
