Palama Meat Company was the Industrial Winner in 2002 according to the Hawaiian Electric Company. The organization is a food service provider that is a division of H&W Foods. H&W Foods, through its subsidiaries Palama Meat Company and H&W Distributors, is one of the leading meat processing and broad line food distributors in Hawaii. The company supplies its meat and broad-line grocery products to hotels, restaurants, supermarkets and warehouse clubs primarily on Oahu. In 1995, Marwit Capital, a venture capital firm, originated and sponsored the acquisition of H&W Distributors, and in 1997 originated and sponsored the add-on acquisition of Palama Meat Company.
