Heritage Behavioral Health Center, estblished more than 50 years ago, traces its origin back to March 1956. Then known as the Mental Health Clinic, it accepted its first client and has been providing service ever since. In 1967, the Alcoholism Advisory Council for the Decatur area was established to provide substance abuse services. In 1970, the Mental Health Clinic became the Decatur Mental Health Center and established an inter-locked relationship with the Alcoholism Advisory Council. In 1987, the Alcoholism Advisory Council was merged into Decatur Mental Health Center. DMHC continued its steady growth and became the primary provider of community-based behavioral health care in Macon County. In 1998, Decatur Mental Health Center became Heritage Behavioral Health Center. Heritage provides comprehensive community-based services to treat the most serious behavioral disorders and links them closely with providers of inpatient care. The clinic provides these services to more than 4,000 people annually. It also provides a wide variety of innovative outreach, crisis intervention and prevention services based in schools and the communities. Heritage Behavioral Health Center is located in Decatur, Ill.

HistoryOn November 7, 2015, Dr. Lohr was appointed to The International Medical Advisory Board on Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. The appointment came during the annual Spinal Decompression Certification Course at Parker University, in Dallas, Texas. The board is composed of twenty physicians and includes neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, medical radiologists, chiropractic physicians and medical physicians. Doctors from all across the country were in attendance to learn the latest in research, technology and treatment for the care and alleviation of back pain, disc problems, utilizing spinal decompression. Dr. Lohr was one of the physicians chosen to speak and present cases at this gathering. In November of 2017, Dr Lohr was elected president of the international Disc Education Association. The association is committed to research and development of non-surgical spinal decompression. The chairman of the association is Allan Dyer, M.D., PhD.
